The Wrestler

The Wrestler is an intense film--painful to watch at times--but Mickey Rourke did a brilliant job portraying troubled Randy "the Ram" Robinson, a stubborn wrestler who personifies his nickname by living recklessly and fighting change with all he's got. He's a battered dreamer who lives for the thrill of thrill of the show and the adoration of his fans, not matter what the cost.

Darren Aronofsky really brings it--this film reminded me of Requiem for a Dream.
