Writer Harlan Ellison Dead at 84

I’m saddened to learn that Harlan Ellison has died. I read much of his work, but I especially liked Angry Candy. I had the unique experience of meeting Harlan at the Bram Stoker Awards in New York City. The year was 1995 and I was fresh out of college. I didn’t have enough money to buy a Horror Writers Association T-shirt. When he saw me trying to buy one, he thrust $5.00 into my hand and said, “Here! Now you can buy your damn T-shirt!!”
