Finally Went to the Brooklyn Public Library

When I moved to Park Slope 14 years ago, my branch of the Brooklyn Public Library was closed for renovations, so I was content to buy books at Barnes & Noble. Now that the economy is in the crapper, I'm embracing the library with open arms! A lot has changed since I last checked out a book. Now, there are self-checkout kiosks that require you to first scan the barcode on your library card, swipe it like a credit card, then scan the barcode on the inside back book cover...It was quite cumbersome for a digital checkout system.
