So I did some research and I'm safe to stay in my current rent-stabilized building. I've renewed my lease for only 1 year instead of the usual 2. Hey, the rent freeze was impossible to pass up! The only possible wrinkle comes if the other tenants decide to move on to greener pastures, deragulating their aparments. We'll see what happens...I'm certainly not happy about having to use a space heater in my office during the colder months; the landlay provides heat, but the building is extremely drafty. She really should replace the windows... Sigh.
If I do move, my dream apartment would be in Manhattan, located near an express subway line--the F train is one of the worst lines in the system when it comes to delays.
