Mandatory Composting Stinks...

Earlier this month, NYC launched a mandatory composting program in my neighborhood, Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn.  We're the first hood to participate. Oh, joy...The containers are fairly large, so are the biodegradable green bags, but, just as I suspected keeping used coffee filters, food scraps and tea bags in my kitchen makes it stink to high heaven. Febreze Stick and Refresh really does live up to the hype! The bin doesn't smell nasty since I started using it.

I have no idea if NYC will be providing additional biodegradable bags once the fist batch runs out. I sure hope so--the last thing I need is an additional monthly expense...
