World War Z

Had a laid-back 4th of July. Met some friends in Manhattan for lunch. Then we headed the Regal Cinemas in Union Square to see World War Z. The movie had a few fun moments, but overall, it was disappointing--they didn't show and gore--and even with Brad Pitt, who's easy on the eyes, the plot was kind of weak.

Halfway through the movie, my friends and I heard a commotion in the back of the theater. At first, we just thought it was just a group of obnoxious people talking on there cell phones. Turns out, a woman had a seizure. They stopped the movie, brought up the house lights and told us they'd start the movie once EMTs arrived. It's great the movies are computerized.  I remember going to see a movie with friends in NJ back in the 90s, which they still used movie projectors that ran actual film. The projector overheated and the film melted, so while we got free movie passes, the show was over. I think we wound up going to a bar.
