When did you Decide to Become a Writer?

Growing up, I had several defining moments. In the second grade, I won the poster contest for Fire Prevention Week at school. My prizes included a certificate of merit, mention in the local newspaper, complete with my picture, and a party at the local firehouse with Dunkin' Doughnuts--I still love their chocolate glazed doughnuts!

I relished the limelight, praise for something I though up with my imagination! I have a twin brother who I love dearly, but growing up with a sibling who's a mere minute older messed with my psyche, so creativity was something I could call my own!

At the tender age of 12 on a family trip to visit an Aunt and Uncle in Upstate New York, my Aunt gave me Stephen King's Cujo. As soon as I finished, I read all of his novels and that's when I knew I wanted to be a writer!
