My Landlady is Selling the Building

Since I moved to Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, 13 years ago, I've been renewing the lease on my rent-stabilized apartment every 2 years, but now that the NYC Board has voted to freeze regulated rents on 1 year leases, I'll only be renewing for 1 year, especially since the landlady just notified all of the tenants that she'll be selling the building; she cannot afford to maintain the building properly. The building has fallen into disrepair in recent years, but I don't complain too much, since I pay a very affordable rent.

Now, I need to do some sleuthing to find out if the building will remain rent-stabilized under the new owner. Fingers crossed that it does and that the new owner takes better care of the building than the current owner does! I think I'm safe, since I'm renewing my lease for 1 year; after that, I know my rent will go up...

When I lived in Greenpoint, that building also changed owners and my rent remained unaffected!
