Technology is a House of Cards...

For the past two weeks my cable modem has been extremely sluggish; it's been an extremely stressful situation, especially now that I work from home.  This past Wednesday, my modem died--it was only 1.5 years old...I called Time Warner Cable and they told me there was a problem with my signal strength--no duh!--and that out of 360 modems in my area, I was one of 7 that were offline...Lucky me.

I was stressed out--I had to get my new collection to my publisher on Thursday; luckily, I didn't need to be online to work with the Word files...The Time Warner Tech arrived at 4:45PM and left at 6:08PM.  My heart was in my throat the whole time--I am useless without the Internet--I am an Online Editor/SEO Specialist, in addition to being an Author.  The tech replaced the modem; no dice; he replaced one of the cables in my office; still no good.  He determined he needed to get to the wires in the backyard and replace them.  I got the key to the basement from the landlady, which is the only way to gain access to the backyard.

I was so thrilled to be back online, I gave the Tech a $20.00 tip--I made his day!  I had 100 messages in my 3 e-mail accounts.  I am still catching up, but it's good to be back!
