Last night I went to the IFC Center to see Bill Plympton screen some of his work.  His animations are very quirky and very dark.  He screened some classic work, including THE FACE, also some really fun music videos and a few works in progress.  He told the audience when he was gowning up, his mother would bring him bloody paper from the butcher shop to draw on...The rest is history.
